The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf on Tuesday approved the appointment of an additional 94 Senior Special Assistants.
Governor Yusuf’s decision is
coming days after the Governorship Petition Election Tribunal sacked him.
The tribunal directed the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of
return from him and present it to the governorship candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Nasiru Gawuna.
Meanwhile, Yusuf has vowed to
appeal the judgment of the tribunal in the Court of Appeal.
The Kano State Governor,
despite the court ruling, approved the appointments of new aides.
The appointments were disclosed
in a statement released by his Press Secretary, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on
Tuesday.
Heraldviews learnt that only
five women were among the 94 newly appointed aides announced by the Governor.
The Special Adviser appointed
include Rahama Kabeer Fagge, Senior Special Reporter I, Government House; Amina
Isah Bebeji, Special Reporter, SEMA; Maijidda Garba, Special Reporter, REB;
Fatima Usman Muhammad, Senior Special Reporter, KNARDA; and Asiya Muhammad
Umar, Special Reporter, Hospitality Management Institute, amongst others.
Dawakin-Tofa said all the
appointments take immediate effect.
