Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election, Peter Obi, as Nigeria’s best bet for a prosperous country.
Heraldviews reported that the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu as the winner of the
February 25 Presidential election.
INEC’s announcement was greeted by legal
suits from the opposition parties and their candidates, including LP and Obi,
questioning the process that made Tinubu the winner of the election.
During a recent interview with media
personality, Chude Jideonwo, Obasanjo maintained that despite President Tinubu
being declared winner of the last election, “Obi is still the candidate that
the country needs to move forward.”
Obasanjo recently advised Nigerians to
consider electing a female president in the coming election to ensure equity
and national development.
