A 42-year-old woman, identified as Fatima Abdul Rahman, has allegedly killed her husband’s secret wife, one Adizat Abdul Rahman by stabbing her to death with a knife at her residence in Alejo Street, Ijede in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Neigbours said
Rahman went to Adizat’s residence pretending to be a nurse while concealing her
fury after discovering that her husband had secretly got married to Adizat.
A neighbour of the deceased who saw Rahman when she arrived at
their residence raised the alarm after deep wounds were found on the deceased’s
neck and head.
Addressing the
court while arraigning Rahman before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba on
one count charge of culpable homicide, yesterday, police prosecutor, Thomas
Nurudeen said she committed an
offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 233 of Criminal
Code Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Nurudeen prayed the court to remand the defendant in a custodial
centre pending legal advice from Directorate of Public Prosecution.
Granting the request, Magistrate P. E Nwaka remanded her to the
Ikoyi Custodial Centre pending legal advice.
Nwaka also adjourned the case to May 25.
In a related development, a 29-year-old woman,
Hanaa, reportedly killed her five-year-old son, Youssef, with a machete at
their home in Egypt before boiling and eating parts of his head.
