President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after an eight-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President who touched down on Wednesday evening at the presidential
wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja was received by his
Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
The Nigerian leader had been away in Saudi Arabia since Tuesday 11th
April.
While in Saudi Arabia, he performed lesser hajj, also known as Umrah, and
met with his counterpart from the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Deby-Itno.
President Buhari also visited the Prophet’s Holy
Mosque and toured the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography
in Madinah where he sued for a balanced understanding of Islam in a way that
corrects misperceptions of the millennia-old religion.
He also met with some State Governors as well as religious leaders and
traditional rulers, where they discussed matters that will sustain the unity
and lead to the progress of the nation.
It is his last trip to Saudi Arabia as President of Nigeria.
